Rogelio M. Ruíz is a 1990 graduate of the University of Michigan Law School and was admitted to the State Bar of California in December 1990. Mr. Ruíz is admitted to practice before all California State Courts, the Federal District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Central Districts of California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Mr. Ruíz has extensive experience in governance and organization counseling for public and private sector clients. He represents school districts and other public bodies and agencies in governance issues, real property acquisitions and dispositions, public contracting, Proposition 39 bond-financed construction and requirements, construction disputes, facilities planning and issues, and joint use agreements. He also counsels school district clients on all aspects of public employment issues, contract issues, student discipline, and Education Code and Brown Act issues.
Mr. Ruíz also has considerable experience in real estate matters and commercial litigation for private sector entities. He previously served as senior counsel for Safeway Inc. and The Vons Companies, Inc. In this role, he was principally responsible for all real estate acquisitions, leasing, dispositions, and shopping center development for Vons’ supermarket, warehouse, and manufacturing operations throughout Southern California and Southern Nevada.
Mr. Ruíz currently represents publicly held and privately owned entities, developers, and owners in large-scale retail development projects, commercial real property purchases, sales and leasing, and real estate-related litigation throughout California.
